Toby

A coil built ‘one off’ vessel distinguished by its surface marks, impressions using hand made paper string. The design is enhanced through the application of slip, underglaze and black oxide.

Finished with a white matt glaze that has been poured to the outside of the vessel, allowing the tactile quality of the impressions and the layering to take centre stage. The combination of these materials and methods results in a piece that is visually richly tactile.
